test day again!

School is in full swing!
We are having our second test today. Algebra 3 will have another one next week. By the way - algebra 3 does not have to bring their books next week. We are spending a week reviewing radicals and I have worksheets for you.

Algebra I will continue in the book and finish up chapter two before their next test.
Continue to bring your calculators to class, because we will have more calculator days like this week.

Have a great weekend and I will try to have the tests graded by monday!

test tomorrow!

don't forget to study... use the sample test that I handed out in class......
work each problem again and then check it against the answers. That should prepare you. Remember all the things I told you about your calculators and how to use them with fractions, changing fractions to decimals, using parentheses, and of course not always believeing everything it outputs! You have to use your brain a bit too!

If you have any questions, I will be at school at 8:05 in the morning. If you can't find me, ask Ms. Webb, she knows everything!

study hard, stay dry, drive safely and I will see you in the morning!

I wanted yall to see a picture of my family. Here are my children.

Chip is on the left. He is a college student in his second year and is presently living in Colorado. He graduated from SCPS in 2007 and went to GSU his freshman year. He did very well and I am proud of his decsion to move to a new place and try new things.... He will be getting a world view on life that can only be found through exploration and courage to step out of the box for a while.

On the right is my beautiful daughter Catie. She was married this summer to the great guy in the middle, Casey. Casey is in Special Operations in the US Army (Always keep Casey in your prayers because he is deployed often.) Caite is attending AASU in her last year and works at a credit union. They are very happy and I am very proud of them both.... Catie graduated from SCPS in 2004.

So there they are. I love them all. This also lets you know that I have dealt with teenagers like you and know about too much homework, forgotten tests, and zeroes on homework... so let's strive to avoid those things!

see yall in the morning!

Start of school

I think we have had a great start!

Books are out and we had our first notes and homework.

I needed a bit more time in each class on friday to go over the notes.. but it was mostly review and I will go over the homework on monday.

we will get new notes, and have a test on friday... write that in your planner!

I hope you have a great weekend. don't forget to do your homework, because I am going to take it up on monday!
also remember your calculators... this is very important... especially if your arithmetic facts are weak (as mine sometimes are!)

headed to church!
see yall tomorrow!

I am using a seating chart in all classes and the upper school is posting grades on the Internet for you and your parents to view 24-7! - learn more on Thursday!

There is also a new demerit system in place to help you follow the rules a little more closely.

I am looking forward to yearbook and deciding this years theme and coverage. We will be getting a new camera in September (I hope)... and Mr. Tindol has bought us a new desktop computer!See ya on Thursday!

school begins August 14

Get ready! it will be here before you know it!
(At least you did not have to do summer reading to be in my class!)

When school starts, I hope to post information that will help you and your parents throughout the school year. I will not only post information about my math classes but about the yearbook as well. So look for the things you need to know - assignments or important test dates, as well as things that are going on around the school.
I hope this helps in having a successful school year!
